For the team at Five Star Motor Group selling cars is more than just a job – it’s been the family business since 2008 and their strong reputation both online and offline is evidence of the kind of quality experience you can expect to have there. When they started looking to their digital strategy as a way to increase sales we knew working together would be a great fit. We crafted a comprehensive redesign of their online marketing effort including new websites, local seo, social media marketing, and Google Adwords to accomplish their goals.

As usual we teamed up with Kerr Interactive to bring a more modern aesthetic with mobile responsive design to both the Five Star Motor Group and Five Star Auto Credit websites. We worked to simplify the user experience and shorten the path to successful conversions.

 

The results were substantial with sweeping improvements to quality metrics like average time on site, bounce rate, and the numbers they really cared about – phone calls and leads.

Search Engine Optimization

When we started the Five Star website didn’t rank in the top 50 for any of the target keywords that were relevant to their business. With organic search being such a quality traffic source and typically the most likely to convert into leads we knew this was an opportunity.

 

After several months of SEO efforts we were successfully able to pull them back from obscurity and achieve first page rankings for the types of searches that can lead to actual sales like “used car dealerships near me” and “edmonton used car dealerships”.

Paid Search

In order to drive even more traffic from their target audience we built campaigns using both Google Adwords and Facebook. On Facebook we targeted sub-prime financing clients with a lead generation campaign that brought in new opportunities for under $50/lead. With Google we targeted local searches that showed used car purchase intent – the cost per lead was higher but so was the conversion rate with most of the leads being phone calls.
