17 Feb 5 Reasons Your Business Needs Facebook Ads
With a wide variety of marketing channels available and even more opinions floating around it can be difficult to decide which ones you should use for your next campaign. We’ve all heard how effective email marketing campaign can be, there’s always something new to talk about in the world of Google Adwords, and social media marketing has grown to include popular platforms like Pinterest and Instagram. However, there’s one marketing channel in particular that allows you to reach a new audience while engaging your current one. It offers some of the best targeting options of any ad platform and some would argue it also offers the best return on investment. I’m talking about Facebook of course, and as the world’s largest social network there’s a good chance you can find your demographic there. Here’s 5 reasons your business should be using Facebook Ads.
1. Your Audience Is Here
With 1.59 billion active monthly users and over 22 billion ad clicks per year Facebook is obviously a huge opportunity but how do you cut through the noise and find your customers in such a big crowd? Well, Facebook also has some impressive targeting options to make sure you find your audience – and you will. I’ll get more into targeting later
2. It’s Cost-Effective
Whether you’re promoting your latest piece of content or getting more eyes on a new marketing campaign you can’t ignore the fact the Facebook is cheap, and I don’t mean the bad kind of cheap. Getting visibility on Facebook simply costs less than other platforms and with the previously mentioned targeting options you’re likely getting a good value for your dollar. Check out this graph from a MOZ article by Brian Carter. I personally haven’t found Facebook to be quite as affordable as depicted here and it will vary depending on the type of campaigns you’re running but this is still an insightful snapshot into a very cost-effective platform.
3. Audience Targeting
Yes, I know that Google Adwords and even Twitter use audience targeting too but Facebook’s platform is unique. Since Facebook users can build a much more comprehensive profile about themselves it gives marketers some very specific variables to work with. In addition to the usual location, age, and gender targeting you can also target people based on their likes, interests, life events, purchase behavior, and their job just to name a few. That can be plenty handy for creating precise campaigns with high ROI.
4. Organic Reach Disappeared
You may have noticed if you’ve been using Facebook for the past several years that the organic reach of your posts have been on a steady decline. Is this a calculated move by Facebook to drive more ad revenue? Well, yes probably and it’s working because the reality is that if you want to reach shoppers you need to spend a few dollars.
5. Custom Audiences
Facebook Custom Audience Features offer something special that nobody else can. For example, maybe you have a great email list and you want to target those same people on Facebook. Done! Now, since that list is so great maybe you’d like to clone that list of people and create another list of potential clients who exhibit the same characteristics. Look-a-like audiences allow you to grow your audience and increase ROI by targeting people who are more likely to be interested in you.
That’s not all, with the custom audience platform you can also use remarketing to help shake potential buyers off the fence. When a customer has been looking at a product on your website you can show that same product to them again when they’re browsing Facebook later on.
